Sumner Studio is an arts and crafts studio in the Vernon neighborhood. We offer workshops that help students explore their creativity and interests in various art forms, guiding them to create their own unique artwork. Students can discover different perspectives, learn how things are made, and see how their ideas can be turned into art. We have seasonal workshops and special classes taught by local artists skilled in woodworking, printmaking, painting, sculpture, and ceramics.

Sumner Studio was founded by Yuka Hollingsworth. Yuka was born and raised in Fukuoka City, Japan and has lived in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland. She has done extensive work as an illustrator in the fashion industry in Los Angeles and San Francisco. In between of her freelance work, she started an arts & craft school in San Francisco named Yuka’s Wonder Lab. Sumner Studio is a continuation of her love for teaching and inspiring young people.
